France 2012 Andre Lhote - Rugby Players

For the modern art exhibition entitled "Gleizes - Metzinger / Du cubisme et après" ("Gleizes - Metzinger / From cubism and after") organised by the French Postal Museum in Paris, a booklet of 12 self-adhesive stamps, entitled "Du Cubisme - Paintings of the twentieth century", was put on preview sale on 10 May 2012 at the French Postal Museum and the "Carré d'Encre". Among the 12 self-adhesive stamps is the one entitled "Rugby (1917)" by André Lhote. The official release date of the stamp booklet for general sale is on 16 July 2012. The actual painting is located at the Musée d'Art Moderne - Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. Other versions of the same theme by Lhote exist.

A Tiki Tour of New Zealand #2

The New Zealand Post issued on 4 July 2012 a beautiful sheetlet for the second of the Tiki Tour series. And the  stamp located in the centre of the second row in the sheet features a rugby goal with 2 touch judges raising their flags. The sheet is broken up into 3 parts to make a set of 3 FDCs.

New Zealand 2012 All Blacks Silver Fern

The NZ Post reissued the All Blacks stamp featuring the single frond of the silver fern, with a new denomination of 70c, on 23 May 2012. The photo shows the miniature sheet for the issue.

Guinea Bissau 2011 Rugby World Cup

Guinea Bissau supposedly issued 2 souvenir sheets on 27 September 2011 to commemorate the 2011 Rugby World Cup held in New Zealand. The second souvenir sheet include drawings with the All Blacks hoisting the Web Ellis Cup.

Sri Lanka 2011 1st South Asian Beach Games

The Philatelic Bureau of Sri Lanka released this stamp on 11 October 2011 to commemorate the 1st South Asian Beach Games, which took place from 8 to 14 October at Hambantota. The stamps feature the beach versions of 3 sports: volleyball, football and rugby; however, beach rugby was not among the 11 events that were played during the games.

Australia 2012 Oval Ball Legends

The first stamps for 2012 featuring oval ball appeared in Australia, on 22 January. The issue on Australian Legends for 2012 has 8 stamps, but only these 6 were for oval ball sports - aussie rules football, rugby league and rugby union. Ron Barassi and Gary Ablett Jr for aussie rules football; John Raper and Billy Slater for rugby league; and the duo of David Campese and David Pocock for rugby union. Booklets with self-adhesive versions of the stamps were also released.
