New Zealand 2015 All Blacks Jersey Stamp

The New Zealand post is releasing an oddity stamp to celebrate the All Blacks on 2 September 2015. The stamp contains real fabric from the All Blacks 2015 Home Replica Jersey supplied by Adidas. The fabric is printed with logos of the All Blacks, Adidas and AIG, then die-cut to replicate the real jersey and applied to gummed stamp paper, with the complete design replicating a framed jersey.

New Zealand 2014 All Blacks

New Zealand celebrated again their favourite sport team, the All Blacks, on 7 May 2014 with a miniature sheet containing stamps with the silver fern. With this simple design, that seemed to have been used in a previous year, and the same stamp design for stamps differing only in size, this really looks like a very frivolous issue. Alright, I admit that there's a change in postage rate, but usually the solution would be for a new set of definitives.

New Zealand 2010 All Blacks

New Zealand Post issue to commemorate the All Blacks was released 4 August 2010. Despite how the game of rugby has evolved in the last few decades, the All Blacks have always been marked by the silver fern on the left breast of their black jerseys. This distinctive emblem, a graphic representation of the native ponga fern (Cyathea dealbata), was adopted by the New Zealand Rugby Football Union in 1893.

The miniature sheet shown above contains 2 sets of the same stamps, the smaller set is available at post offices as loose stamps, however, the bigger set comes from the NZ Post personalised stamp sheet. The lower denomination stamp valued at 60c is meant for increased postage for normal mail in New Zealand, effective October 2010.
