The Philatelic Bureau of Sri Lanka released this stamp on 11 October 2011 to commemorate the 1st South Asian Beach Games, which took place from 8 to 14 October at Hambantota. The stamps feature the beach versions of 3 sports: volleyball, football and rugby; however, beach rugby was not among the 11 events that were played during the games.

The Linn's Stamp News for 28 May 2012 listed this "new issue" from Sri Lanka, as featuring beach volleyball, frisbee and soccer. Well, the way those kids in the stamp are handling those oval things, it pretty well looks like rugby than frisbee!
